We are about a month into this year's pomegranate season, and it will last until January or February. If you haven't picked one up yet get to it. I recommend the Pom Wonderful brand, in my humble opinion they are the best.

score it as you showed, but peel it and pull apart in water to avoid the pesky juice squirting all over the place. Then just drain the water off and put your fruit in whatever container you wish.
