KFAQ Responds

KFAQ recently let Chris Medlock go. I sent them a nasty-gram about it. The following is their reply, and my reply to their reply.

Hi Steven,

Thank you for writing. The economy has forced many businesses to make choices. With our move at KFAQ, we've had to make a difficult choice to stop working with someone we really care about by canceling the Chris Medlock Show. It was not an easy decision. We do hope to be able to call on Chris' expertise in the future.

In the meantime, we are changing our line up by adding an additional hour of the Laura Ingraham Show, which will now be heard from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. We will be adding a new local show, "Live at 5" to be hosted by Elvis Polo. Elvis will also be continuing his role on the Pat Campbell Show.

Through these changes, we hope our listeners understand our commitment continues to Standing Up For What's Right in Tulsa. We remain steadfast
on that mission.

My reply to Mr. Gann.
You've got to do what you've got to do, but standing up for what is right should be more than just a slogan. The Chris Medlock show was not your show, it wasn't even Chris's show. It was OUR show. We deserved a final show, or at least an acknowledgment that he was being let go. You guys messed up. I don't think I'm going to be willing to give you a second chance.

Regards,
Steven H Roemerman Sr

People leaving disparaging remarks about my friend need to be man enough to not post them anonymously.

I'll miss Chris. Laura Ingram is great, but Tulsa NEEDS Chris and his show looking out for us.

A layoff would have left the Friday show intact and not a total disappearing act of the show. It's obvious that something happened as layoff include a statement of the fact and searching the many websites there is nothing of any layoffs within JC or JB.
You have to wonder whats going on at KFAQ since PC arrived. I wish Bates would expand on what his run in with the station might have been since it appears he became unwelcomed last year there. Thankfully I don't have to change the stations anymore when I get up after my wife in the mornings as she switched to KRMG also last month.
arrogance only gets people so far then it gets old.

Medlock is an A** and you are ugly idiot! Not much you 2 can do about that! Cheerio!

Admin's note - I figured I'd let this one through... with some edits...

I agree, Medlock is a local asset and I'm not aware of anyone with a public voice (radio/TV) who is as knowledgeable on local issues. KFAQ screwed up. I mean, how much could eliminating his salary possibly have saved them? I'll miss his show.

I was also very disappointed with KFAQ. Glenn Beck and Chris Medlock are really the only reasons I listen to them, and not KRMG. Now there's only Beck.

Medlock has such a great handle on the Tulsa issues, that no one else on the radio can come close to.

I really wish that, at the least, KFAQ had given Chris one last, farewell show for the 'Q Nation'.

Overall, bad move by KFAQ (and/or Journal Communications).

chris took it real hard. He would have been very vocal about it. Including his thoughts on Pat Cambell. Chris was never happy about Pat taking over his time slot. Chris also believed his little rating increase gave him power. But the truth is. Pat had a contract. Chris had nothing. that was also known in the political realm. That why he couldn't even get randy terrill on his show last week. Also there was a big movement in the john birch society. The chapter here in Oklahoma had issue with chris. that's a lot of power in the state government.did you notice how fast gwen freeman left. If you pay attention. you will see chris medlock leave the state.
