Michael Bates has recently reported that the $200 that Phil Wood gave the Troyer campaign was primarily to recruit the Troyer Campaign to the place Phil Wood signs. Wood told Bates, “I contributed the $200 to encourage distribution of my signs since the 'sign crew' is primarily my wife Emily and me.”
If I may, like to offer my firsthand observation. I just spent 4 hours driving all over District 6 putting out signs for Mautino. I saw a lot of Troyer signs but I can’t recall seeing even one Wood sign. I saw a few Willis signs, but no Wood signs.
So if it is true that Wood was just buying a little sign placement, then I’d say he got screwed…
