Tonight marks the second year in a row that we have not watched the Oscars. It marks the third or fourth year that we have been upset with the movies that were nominated, the movies that won(save the Lord of the Rings), and the actor’s political statements. Does this have anything to do with the fact that we have been parents for three and a half years now? Have we moved away from Hollywood, or has Hollywood moved away from us?
I think it is a bit of both. Rregardless, we aren’t watching…the movies or the Oscars.

Right On!!! We've never watched!! Those days have been long gone! And, we don't even care!! My children don't care to see stuff they know is not good for them. I'm so behind on the who's who in that world...I don't apologize to anyone for not wasting my time with that junk. I used to not know how to 'take' it when people would want to have the "hollywood" conversations, but I learned and they catch on. All I have to say is "That doesn't interest me." Some get surprised, but anyone that knows me doesn't even bother goin' there. lololol
Batman Begins should have gotten at least one Oscar. Personally, i thought it had a good supporting actor,Michael Caine and the special effects were probably the areas for Oscar nomination.I thought it was funny of Chris Rock when he said the only men who watched the Oscars were gay.Now the tale of the fairies in fedoras hits the screen and it didn't get best picture but only best director.I guess Ang got his angst!
As a parent of four kids I am sick and tired of all the gay stuff in movies. I mean, if I had a kid that went gay -I would still love him or her. But until such time as I would have to deal with that life issue - I don't want it thrown in the kids' faces. And I would NEVER tolerate an openly gay teacher - especially in elementary school.
Look, heteros don't go around 'announcing' to the world their sexual proclivities and wearing it on our shirt sleeves. Who cares? Nobody. And we certainly don't expect to have certain "rights" or "protections" because of who we choose to sleep with. Gimme a break.
As for those award shows?? Don't care to watch at all. Besides, I don't want to take a chance of seeing another "Madonna makes out with Brittany scene". Ugh.
We have boycotted many a movie because of all of those arrogant actors who spew forth their political agenda as if just because they are celebrities, the masses will go along with them. Please, don't insult our intelligence.
And that broken back hill or whatever it's called - I wouldn't break open my wallet to waste a single penny on that gaybage.
