Of the many Town hall meetings I have attended, tonight’s with City Councilors Chris Medlock and Jim Mautino was one of the most impressive. Close to 100 people were in attendance. This is a stark contrast to the forums Mayor LaFortune held a few months ago. Most in attendance for his meetings were Tulsa City hall staff members and campaign folks. This was not true for Medlock and Mautino’s meeting tonight. The turn out from just district 6 was very strong, but I also spied various community and neighborhood leaders representing all of Tulsa.
There were some great points about public safety, 4 to fix the county, the third penny sales tax, and the airport investigation. I'll try to address the specifics tomorrow. For tonight however, I just wanted to focus on the positive turnout.
My fellow Tulsa Bloggers from Batesline, Tulsa Topics, and Our Tulsa World were also there and I will be interested to see their take on tonight’s meetings.
